DESCRIPTION:WAG will participate in Thornebrook’s 2024 Spring Arts Festival on Saturday and Sunday\, March 2-3\, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. \nPlan now to attend this fun event\, held in a park-like setting. Dozens of books will be available in WAG’s tent\, and many other vendors will be there selling artwork — paintings\, sculpture\, photography\, glass works\, fiber arts\, wood carvings\, pottery\, and jewelry. \nFood will be available throughout the day in Thornebrook restaurants: Bageland\, Cintron\, Mini Momo\, and Thornebrook Chocolates. There will also be food truck vendors on site. \nIf you are a WAG member and have questions about book sales\, contact WAG’s Publicity Coordinator\, Michael Urban. \nThe WAG booth is P7\, between Gainesville Kitchen and Bath and Thornebrook Optical shop. DESCRIPTION:The fourth annual Sunshine State Book Festival will begin with a meet-and-greet on Friday\, January 27\, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. This will be followed by an all-day event on Saturday\, January 28\, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All activities will take place on the campus of the Trinity United Methodist Church\, 4000 NW 53rd Avenue\, Gainesville\, Florida. The event is free and open to the public\, and there is plenty of free parking. \nOne hundred and fifty authors will be on hand to meet readers\, answer questions\, and sign books. There will also be speakers throughout the day Saturday. Come spend a few hours or the entire day at the festival. DESCRIPTION:North Florida’s art scene swings into high gear on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the highly acclaimed 38th Annual Downtown Festival & Art Show. The streets of historic downtown Gainesville\, Florida from City Hall to the Hippodrome State Theatre will be transformed into a celebration of art and creativity complete with live music\, performing arts\, and a spectacular array of food. More than 80\,000 art lovers will fill the streets to enjoy and purchase one-of-a-kind artwork. \nThe festival features 240 local and national artists displaying original oils and acrylics\, vibrant watercolors\, unique sculptures\, dazzling jewelry\, decorative ceramics and vivid photography. Children can create their own art at the Imagination Station\, a free hands-on art activity area including sidewalk-chalk drawing\, painting\, mask design\, puppet creation\, clay sculpting and interactive entertainment. Music lovers can enjoy continuous live entertainment on four stages by local bands\, solo musicians\, and dance companies.
